Biyografi:

Orkun Zafer Özgelen was born in Kadıköy, Istanbul. He started to music to play the Bağlama (Turkish music enstrument) and in high school he won the Instrument Education Department of İstanbul Technical University (ITU) Turkish Music Conservatory. After highschool in the conservatory, he won the Composition Department in undergraduate degree. In the period, he has gotten Erasmus Schoolarship, and received two years of Orchestration and Composition lessons in Italy, Rome, Conservatorio di Santa Cecilia. When he returned back to İstanbul in 2010, he found a chance to work with Hüsnü Arkan who is famous soloist and composer in Turkey, for 1 year. In the same year, in an event which was organized for Türkan Şoray who is famous actress in ITU, he played the Piano and took a chance to sing a song that he has made for her. And, after that issue, in the book called ‘Sinemam ve Ben’ written by Türkan Şoray herself and that short introduction story took place. In 2010, he founded ITU Musical Group. In this period he organized and participated in many events and concerts in ITU and in many organizations. After managing this community for 4 years, in 2015, he received an invitation from Koç University Musical Group and made music director and instructor for this group for a year. During this time, he made the musical adaptation and musical director of the musical adaptation of Oscar Wilde's "Dorian Gray's Portraits" as a musical adaptation.In a composition competition organized by ‘Süreyya Operası’ which is the only big and historical concert bulding in Asian part of İstanbul, he took jury special award with his Suite composition in 2017. He is currently working as academician at the ITU State Conservatory.
