| Serap did her master’s and doctorate degrees at the Istanbul Technical University Institute of Social Sciences. Serap organised a radio program which is called Turkish Folk Music Program at the TRT Istanbul Radio for a while. In 1984, Serap started working as a Research Assistant at the Istanbul Technical University Turkish Music Conservatory School. In 1989, Serap graduated from the ITU Institute of Social Sciences and Serap also graduated from her doctorate degree in 1995. She has been teaching structural elements of Turkish Folk Music and has been giving different kinds of lectures about Turkish Folk Music Repertory. Furthermore, she has given lectures on Thematic Folk Songs for master’s degree students at the same time. In addition to being an academician, Serap has worked as the co-head of Department of Voice Training. Serap has become a juror in various competitions and commissions and has prepared many concerts as a chorist and a bağlama-player. Her articles have been published in many magazines. In conclusion, Serap has been working as the co-head of Department of Voice Training since 2017 and Serap has been giving lectures about Turkish Folk Music Repertory, overviews of Co-repetition practices and the impact of various characteristics regionally in Turkish Folk Music Repertory. |
